Maybe I'll walk the Earth like Cain in Kung Fu

Well the hunch panned out, I am now unemployed. Seriously though, the job got bad fast and I reasoned it better to get out in one piece. So back to the grind of job hunting, now with the added irritation of being a "job seeker" and having to show up at the job centre every two weeks to be told by a condescending freak that none of the 3 occupations that they pigeon-holed me in have yeilded anything but mediocre job opportunities.

So it goes.

Infinite Crisis is starting to shape up, although I'm more intruiged by the effects in other titles rather than in the Series itself which is just trying to include too much (I thought only one of the four minis would lead into the crisis and yet all four are still featuring). I'm slightly dissappointed at the return of Earth 2 Supes and co but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and see wherre things go first. I'm still left hoping and praying that LEGION and Seven Soldiers will both tie in as well since both arc are headed towards similar large scale crises.

Oh, I also watched Batman Begins finally. Good, but not that good. If you didn't realise that Liam Neeson was Al Ghul then you probably don't read comics much if you do then SHAME on you since he looked just like him and its a staple bad guy tactic. Scarecrow was a nice take but didn't do enough although leaving him alive corrects a mistake I felt that the original franchise kept making. There were a few other points that bugged me but I shall relent and merely say that I'm glad the film was as good as it was... fingers crossed for Superman.

Bookwise I finally got round to reading Angels and Demons so now I can also finally get round to reading The DaVinci Code. Angles and Demons is a great read with one problem for me at least: Waaaayyyyy too many "twists" at the end. S0metimes I'm happier with just straightforward stories, I actually found myself second guessing and then hoping I was wrong but alas my cynicism proved true which made for a more downbeat ending than I would have liked. I know I'm being vague but its just that I don't want to spoil the story for anyone who hasn't read it yet.

I finished The Warriors, just in time to play Smackdown vs RAW 2006. Another great game (if you like that sort of thing) but now I've finished that too so I've borrowed Dawn of War from an assosciate. Nice game, make me want to play 40k again. Maybe someday I will.

Lastly I went to see the Prodigy at the SECC. Great set but, like Goldfrapp before them, I didn't feel it matched up to the performance which seared my flesh at T in the Park. Again the comparison may be unfair since festivals are just a whole other level of atmosphere.

Transmission end....... ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
