Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water...

HEY HEY!
Been a while innit? I've been on holiday for a week (the rest of the time was sheer unnadulterated laziness).
I cannot reccommend Kavos as a holiday destination. Don't get me wrong, I had a good time there but that was more despite of than because of where we were. The Euro has wrecked the sellnig point of Kavos, its cheapness, now its really no cheaper than a night in Glasgow (once you factor in that cheaper drink is watered down... wait, thats true of Glasgow too...) That I can live with though. The music, while incessant and devoid of any real variety didn't bother me either. It was as if Kavos was caught in a time warp and I was sucked back to my childhood: MC Hammer, Whigfield, Rednex, Vanilla Ice, Take That, they were all there and more and once your liquored up thats a ticket to PAR-TAY! Sad I know but I enjoyed it. No the real problem with Kavos is the sanitation, toilet paper cannot be flushed as the sewage system cannot cope. That means USED toilet paper cannot flush. That is gross people and combine that with an apparent lack of gutters in the street (there really is only one) and that is BAD. It really smells awful, plus we had alternating heavy rain and strong heat which just made things worse. Avoid Kavos, if you must do the 18-30 thang then try Spain I guess.
Oh, Greece's lax copyright laws left me free to see loads of recently released movies. A quick rundown followed later perhaps with more detailed thoughts...
Alien Vs Predator = Wasted opportunity, not even that enjoyable
Resident Evil: Apocalypse = Better than AvP but still only enjoyable in a throw-away manner
Collateral = Brilliant, strong performances by Cruise and Foxx, highly enjoyable, and funny
The Punisher = Much better than people would have you beleive, the best of the action flicks
Dodgeball = Hilarious, Rip Torn is a legend however the film sorely lacked Will Ferrel
Anchorman = But thats OK 'cos he made this! The funniest film in an age, that simple
Bourne Supremacy = Very good thriller, I'm surprised to say that but I have to be honest
Until next time... TTFN
